« on: Jan 14, 2015, 20:42:52 PM »
We just upgraded to CAMduct 2015, Can anyone tell me if you can use your old database from 2012 version in 2015 CAMduct version? If so, please let us know if we cam import in?

I believe there was a tool to make the database change.  I didn't do it though and had some pathing issues (not sure if they are related)

Make sure to backup your current configuration and place it somewhere safe. Click on the link below to walk you through the migration. There may be some additional setup thats needed. Most common issues I see is having to reassign the post processor, redefine the label printer and reloading the labels.

@ the 11:40 mark, it will show you the process.

No tools required, just open EDITMAP.exe and add the location where your old Database is located and when you start a program just have it point to your old database...

This is true with the Autodesk version of the software (2013-2015). When updating from Map-Software (dongle), its important to run the migration tool. There were quite a bit of changes made from 2012 and 2013.

I had better luck without the migration tool.

moving from 2012 to 2015 should be ok with EDITMAP but never with the migration tool... the migration tool is for  MAP final version (usb dongle) to CAM2014 stable version. (2013 was still a nightmare due to registries and data base entry differences, I received many errors during the migration process)

as for myself, editmap.exe  nor migration tool worked for me because I was migrating from version 2002 where it was still using the parallel port dongles...... so I had to start from scratch and that took me a month to rebuild all the settings.. :'(

We went here from 2012 into 2015 without the use of the Migration Tool and everything is fine Database-wise...   :)

Does this method allow merging (adding old MAP database) to new 2015 installation?
Or does it replace the 2015 content with the old MAP content?
