Mouse zooming
« on: Jun 03, 2015, 21:48:45 PM »
I have this seemingly random but HIGHLY annoying issue with the scroll button.  Sometimes when I use it to zoom, it zooms way out or way in.  Makes using it almost impossible.  I almost threw it across the room several weeks ago but thought better of it.

I have played with several variables like zoomfactor but they don't seem to have the same affect on it.  Oh, it is a Logitech mouse.

Sounds like a good solution to me.

Ken happens to me also, I minimize Autocad to task bar then bring it back up (Maximize) and low and behold works again.

That is a tip that I find useful.

Using a Razor Abyssus mouse here, never an issue. ;D

Needing a new mouse, I just found I had a MS Comfort Optical 3000 laying around and the zoom in AutoCAD was horrendous, one small push on the wheel and it would jump huge amounts, ZOOMFACTOR did the trick when I set it to 15...

And the wheel on this thing does not click like most mice, this one has a weird smooth feel to it without clicks... took me forever to get used to...  :-/

Some have a switch on the bottom of them.

I'm currently using the Logitech G502 mouse and it is GREAT!
It also has the button to change the click wheel to tactile and slow or smooth and fast which helps quite a bit depending on the task. Not to mention the million macro buttons on it that I have programmed along with the macro buttons on my keyboard for shortcuts.

Isn't there a setting in windows or, if it is Logitech, Setpoint?

I don't know, it started doing this after the Fiasco when I installed Screencast and screwed up my CAD install...

This one is a MS  Comfort Optical 3000...

There must be a switch somewhere that tells AutoCAD to reverse the zooming action when in MEP Viewer...

It is really annoying when you are used to be one way and now is backwards...
