CREATECAM doesn't export unistrut supports
« on: Aug 12, 2015, 19:12:24 PM »
I am trying to see my unistrut bracing on this system in Revit and when I do a createcam and import it into Revit, none of the unistrut bracing shows up.

Is there another command to export to Revit or a setting I need to change?

There are only several things that it will export.  There is some documentation on what it will export.  I remember flex being one that doesn't.

There are a few CID patterns not supported yet but 838 is not on that list. I am able to convert my Unistrut just fine.

That is a structural CID and is not yet supported. More importantly, build your supports from 838. In the mean time, isolate all your CID 910 items and IFC them out so you can get them into Revit.

So IFC makes a block that Revit can read?  New to the whole Revit thing.
Is there a way to do a global change to what I have now?  Match Properties doesn't have CID in it unfortunately.

IFC is a platform neutral open file format not controlled by any specific vendor or platform.

Unfortunately, there is not going to be an easy button for swapping 910 for 838 and MatchProp is not meant to handle these types of exchanges. You'll have to do it the manual way. Or you can just leave it as is and implement 838 on the next floor or project.

Thanks. It's always the bugs to work out when learning the in and outs of a new software.

This is still in it's infancy, while is great that we can now work in REVIT with Fabrication, it will be a few years before is 100% implemented and who know, maybe even better...

I did and IFCE and it exported it out as a *.BIX file. When I go to Revit, that file extension doesn't show up as one as I can import.

When you do the export change the extension to .ifc
