Canvas Connecters
« on: Jul 03, 2004, 11:41:38 AM »
The object development of the canvas connector (CID#166) is not very to good, the old CADduct had a more true life look to it, one could control the amount of metal on each side and show canvas in the middle. Also the option to make it round would be nice to hook to round outlet or inlet fans.

Bob
We can add extension value to 166 if you like, do you need Left and Right extensions or would one be OK.

There is a round Canvas, pattern 555, set Option 3 to Lines.
Copy and rename to Canvas.

OR use the true Flex pattern (CID 873), you can modify the spacing of the rings and the OD, (check in the options).

Andy,

Pattern 555 worked great! Pattern 166 would need to have extensions on both ends.

Yes both ends, but you dont need different values for each end do you?
Also does the length want to include the extensions or not, i.e do you want the length reported as the canvas length or the total length including extensions?

Hi Andy,

The metal for the canvas on both ends is 3" the canvas fully streched is about 3" (total streched out 9") we usally turn a drive on the 3" ends or leave raw for ductmate. Theres really not any need to have the report generate a length as it could very 3" (canvas material) depending on the application.

So if its drawn 24x24 the shop would pull 96.5" from the canvas coil box the 1/2" is for a lap for  rivits.

the report would be something like:

canvas 24x24 S+D total length 96.5"

  hope i didnt confuse you!!:)

ok, its done, will be in next release.

You can make the report say whatever you want,  with calculated fields.

Andy, Did this slip through the cracks on adding the extensions?
CID#166 we need control of the 2 ends and the Middle.
With the 2 ends the connector you choose will draw canvas at correct length and having the Middle Dim Control (deflection) you can have Large or small canvas

I can't wait until we get the "what is wrong with the software" comment. They don't even dare to ask for a wish list. Remember when we used to get support and fixes in the same day on this very site? Then the change was done an out within days? Ah, the good old days.
