Weird CAM behaviour
« on: May 30, 2017, 17:11:32 PM »
We started experiencing this "bug" where Spiral Double Wall jobs CAM'd from CAD to CAM when opened in CAM and everything is checked and Nested, the Report for our COLLARS prints the SAME identical size for collars ID and OD on a handful of fittings, we have tried to force the SPECS to all the fittings again and still reads wrong collars on report.

But, if you manually EDIT each fitting that is reporting wrong and close it, then it reports right...

Something is not right here, like hanging, I was wondering, is there a command in CAM similar to REBUILDALL???

We are still on REL16 and Version 3.04.1100 SP5

You could try Change Spec.  That should force a redevelopment of the patterns.

That's what I meant above for forcing the SPEC, using Change Spec, but that did not work... you would have thought that it should, but it doesn't...

I am thinking that this might have to do with Oval duct taps trying to use Round Connectors, in the early days of this program (MAP days, oh how I miss those days  :) ) Oval duct taps that required to be round always came out as 12x12, 8x8 and so on, this was horrible reporting taps and collars as they would show as such, so the software was updated so that when you typed a size 12x12, it would automatically look under ROUND CONNECTORS and not OVAL CONNECTORS for the specified connector, it could be that somehow as you CAM some info is getting lost...

If you plug in a job with oval fittings with round taps in CAM, this behavior doesn't occur.. is only when you CAM from CAD.  :-\

Have you upgraded one side recently or are you running the same version (year) of both programs?

When you used Change Spec, did you just select the same Spec?  You might need to use it twice, pick a different/incorrect spec, than back to the original.

We are willing to try anything... I'll run a test and see...  :)

Yes, but it's only ONE year so not on their list of priorities!

"Now where was that priority list?"
