Control item text via Fabrication API?
(1/1)
Siege:
Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if it's possible to control item's texts and leaders from within the api?
If not... is there a way in lisp to control the leaders or at least select the sub-entities of an item (text, leaders...) from within a lisp procedure?
Thanks,
Sam

I don't think so, but I'm fairly certain you can access the subentities though the vanilla AutoCAD API.

Yeah, it really depends on how much you're willing to jump back and forth between the AutoCAD .NET API and Fab API, but between those two, I imagine you can get what you want.
Also, keep in mind that you can just use the CAD .NET API and use Lisp Syntax with SendCommand. And there are some pretty cool things people have done with this stuff in Lisp. Though I prefer to use the same toolset (C#) for as much as I can before scaffolding with other toolkits like that.
I haven't seen a lot of discussion toward House of BIM much either, but you may find stuff that JHoward has done to be useful as well if you start considering mixing Lisp with .NET work.
