Fabrication Pipe sleeves in Revit
« on: May 23, 2018, 17:42:34 PM »
Has anyone got the round Pipe/Duct sleeve to work in Revit ? And if not what do you use for a round Pipe/Duct sleeve.

Thanks
Thanks, Dino

Hilti has a pipe plug in for Revit. Look into that. I have also just created cataloged items out of regular pipes (CID 2041) for sleeves for the steel ones. As far as i know, the CID pattern for sleeves does not translate over to revit.

The problem with that is you do not get trimble points for your sleeves.

Correct - Our work around is we export out of revit and run our lisp that places all sleeves for us with the correct pattern for a points export.

I am using CID#149 & CID#972.  It's not ideal but if you .maj them out to can you can export the points from them in cad.

I've tried the CID#149 for pipe sleeves, but when I'm trying to place the sleeve it's not snapping to the pipe, it always show offset from the pipe when hovering over the connection point and will not insert when clicked.

Can you share your item's options and dimensions to have something to compare?

Place a piece of round duct snap the sleeve to it.  Then erase the duct and move and or rotate the sleeve to where you need it.

fwiw... Autodesk Point Layout add-in for Revit finds the origin point of pattern 149 in both vertical and horizontal position.

piping: We use a section of pipe (two trimble points) and a independant service palette so we can separate from the rest (abbreviation SLV),  the only inconvenient is that the detailers have to place the pipe manually because there is no snaps, but we get trimble and everything else we need to report.

I created a dynamo script that generates the points for us in a csv file and it goes directly to the machine with no issues (pypeserver)

There are other plugins that do this automatically. Standard RTS CSV, Custom CSV and TFL.
