Material and Insulation Costs from a Price List
« on: Jun 14, 2018, 14:06:02 PM »
Is there any way to pull material and insulation costs from a price list? I noticed that under Material Properties for insulation there is an option to use a Price List Override, but if I set that to a price list, the cost breakdown just shows $0 for insulation cost, even with a product code from the price list assigned to that insulation (see attached).

Or do you just have to manually update material and insulation costs every time you want to update them (which could be a frequent thing in today's metal market)?

Did you figure this out? My new company currently uses product ID numbers for their metal & insulation in their fab program. We will (hopefully) be switching to CAMduct and I was wanting to duplicate, as closely as possible, what they do now, but I can't find how to use Product IDs for metal or insulation.

No. I've never found a solution other than manually updating the costs in the database.

Anyone ever find a solution to this?
I am actually currently trying to work on this and I can't seem to get any insulation to price correctly either.

I would say that your Rated Costs are setup by weight. Have a look at your Costing setup tab > Wastage > Rated Costs. Change this to Use True material costs, sadly this is applied to both main and Insulation, would be great if these were independent to one another.
Apply this and check your cost breakdown, it should show the insulation costs now.

I setup the same values as you have in the imperial 2.2 database and got this to work.

Our database is already setup this way and Insulation still isn't pricing.
