Command for trace estimating item entry?
« on: Apr 18, 2024, 08:37:50 AM »
Hello. Is aware if there are any commands that can be entered into ESTmep?

I would love to be able to enter a command for certain things such as putting a specific item in a run whilst using the trace estimating, but I'm not aware of the command to do this or any way to see the command line.

When using AutoCAD I have macros attached to mouse buttons, which speeds up work rate significantly. I'd like to be able to repeat this in ESTmep.

Ideally I'd have commands for things like a new design line, size/elevation entry, and the most common items entered.

Not sure if this is what your looking for but this will list our all the commands you can use in EST. I'm not aware of being able to add custom commands.

Thanks! I'd forgotten about this list of commands. It doesn't have anything for item entry, but definitely a few there that I'll add to macros to speed things up.
I feel like there should be some sort standard syntax to item entry, even if it's hidden away. Unfortunately I've looked at the command line in CADmep and it doesn't show up with anything on there either.

Thanks, I'll look into this.

Whilst searching this forum I also found out that Ctrl+D selects the first size box in the design line entry, which could be useful if I wanted to add a macro for size change.

In the Takeoff menu there's a "Setup Shortcuts" option, where you can setup a key sequence to link to a specific item file. However after setting this up I can seem to see what this is for as it doesn't seem to work. Maybe just linked to digitizer use.
There's also a "Key Sequence" section on button properties, which I can't seem to get to work. I think this may be linked to digitizer use also.

yes, I'm doing the same, try it with Ctrl+N and some commands in the command list. In addition, you can attach macro commands to the mouse buttons, "Logitech G502 is an option", it helps you work faster.
