Fab Database shows on one computer, not the other
« on: Feb 06, 2019, 17:50:27 PM »
We use Revit with Fabrication Parts. Our database is set up through CADmep 2018, and office wide we have mapped our company Database on each User's computer in the "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Fabrication 2018" directory and it shows just fine in all Revit 2018 installations. Our actual database in on a networked drive. We have also done the same with Revit 2019 and we map to the same database. All computers in Revit 2019 can see the database except for one particular computer. We have all updates installed and cannot seem to think what else it may be. Any help would be appreciated!

I forgot to mention that all users have Fabrication CADmep 2018 installed on their machines, so this should not be the issue, at least as far as we know.

If you are using Revit 2019 try and start up CADmep 2019 load the database you want and then run Revit 2019 and see if the database you want shows up.

You need to use the CADmep 2019 "Edit configuration" to add it. That step might have been missed on that one machine.

Is the problem that the user can't load fabrication parts into Revit or that the user can't draw with fabrication parts in Revit?

Thanks everyone I will try the recommendations. madcad - you may be right, I need to try this.

bknapton, in Revit the Fabrication Configuration isn't shown in the drop down at all. I think madcad may have found the solution. I will try his suggestion and report back. When I set up my computer I may have done this step and failed to do so on his machine.

To confirm, this was the missing key. I completely forgot that I needed to set this up and not just copy the files over on the local config side of things.

Thanks for jogging my memory madcad.
