I've tried just about everything.
Dims Outside works as it should which your dimensions are based on the outside skin, but when you go dims inside it seems like it doesn't respect anything and figures the dimensions as outside anyways.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear previously. This happens while using designline. It happens in CADmep & ESTmep when using designline.

Also, in Revit if you use multi-point routing it works as it should, but if you draw with generic revit and then use Design to Fab it will not oversize either.

I guess maybe it's a designline problem in 2020.
Design to Fabrication in Revit uses designline logic and it doesn't work either.

But in 2018 it works perfectly in Revit, CADmep & ESTmep. I haven't tried 2019, but I've never used 2019 since we skipped right over it.

According to the 2020.1 Release Notes:
"Design Line
Fixed an issue that caused ductwork to be incorrectly sized when using inside insulation with inside dims."

But it doesn't seem to be fixed...

At least they're consistent.

And it not working in Revit means there's hope it will get fixed. Had it been a DL/ESTmep only issue, good luck.

Well.. It only doesn't work in Revit if you draw with generic and use the Design to Fabrication tool.  If you use the multi-point routing tool (which has it's own issues since it doesn't use designline logic) it works just fine. So... I guess we shall see. Going to keep everyone else on 2018 for now I suppose. :/

Chris,

Please post a screencast. Also show any details of your insulation spec setup.  I have someone from Autodesk looking at this and they can't seem to reproduce.

I'm having to wrestle to get 2020 uninstalled but once I do, I'll give 2020.1 a try.

See attached screenshots.

Again, this also affects CADmep & Revit (Design to Fabrication only) as well.

This was done on the same computer, same settings, same database, same profile.
If I draw a file in 2020 then open it in 2018 and unfill and refill it does what it should. If I draw a file in 2018 and everything is right then open it in 2020, unfill and refill it sizes incorrectly again.

The 2020 is 2020.1 now as well. I have tried uninstalling ESTmep, installing 2020. Issue still occurs, reinstalling 2020.1 and the issue is still present.

Video, not screen caps.  This more readily lets me see all the steps in drawing.

I use it w/Autodesk Support all the time.

There really isn't anything to screengrab. The insulation spec is assigned to the service and I just draw a 120" long 24x24 line with designline and fill.

I have tried to also apply the liner manually on a single line that does not have the spec applied at the service level with the same results.
