HETO Tap pattern
« on: Nov 14, 2019, 14:45:38 PM »
Howdee

I'm working on updating outr database to play better with Revit... our HETO's were built with CID#28... that works well in CADmep but not so much in revit as a Tap.... any sugestions on a tap pattern that i can replicate the BxC dimension with that round size?

Thanks

I built ours with CID#8 and they seem to work fine. You can modify the damper to include the standoff if you want if I remember correctly.

Are you able get this CID to fill/convert to Fab in Revit?  I am trying to find a HETO pattern to use for Elgen and Flexmaster efficiency taps that Revit will recognize as a tap.

They work but you need to have separate .itms for each size.

I switched mine to Heto CID#24 to allow you to swap them in Revit.  We don't use the one's that has the smaller Rectangular end like yours but it does work in Revit if you want to try that one.  On the larger ones that have an offset I left as CID#20 and kept them as a Square to Round style.

Oh... CID#24 works pretty well actually. Doesn't require individual .itms per size to work in designline in ESTmep or in Revit. I think I'm going to swap over to those barring any issues I find. Great find!

Do you stack the buttons or make a "Tap" tab on your services?

Thanks for the info.  Any tips, tricks, links to insight, etc. is appreciated.  We are going thru two transitions currently and concurrently, if that's a thing.
1. We are transitioning from hand tickets (manually entered FAB Shop) to CAMduct, starting with the Value Pack we bought in Oct. 2018 which has just been customized a little to suit CADmep use.
2. We are transitioning from ACAD to Revit, still Fabrication of course.

I stack them in a button, but try CID#24. So far it's working for us and I am probably swapping our HETOs over to that pattern.

I agree with Pattern 24. The only issue I see is the fact that it does not look like a "standard" HETO because of the oval bottom. But if that's what works, it is what we go with.

The only time I use the HETO tap CID#20 is when the round tap does not fit on the rectangular duct so CID#24 in no help.

Thanks

Has any Revit User's Reported to Adesk about CID's 8&28 not being able to Rotate around the duct like other Taps?
For now I'm going to setup CID 24 I think just to get by. Starting to find quarks in Revit as Training a guy from field to do coordination. Myself staying in CAD! phewww :)

We rotate HETOs based on CID 28 around with no problem.  Are you using the Connect as Tap icon in the ribbon?  You have to use it everytime since you can't default it.  ::)
