Multiple Versions of CADmep Using Same Database

Would running different versions of Fabrication CADmep (2018, 2019, 2020, etc.) on the same database cause any issues? Or would it be wise to update all versions using that database to 2020 for example?

Just curious if anyone has had any issues with this...

I would imagine it would be ok providing and database edits and content creation is ONLY done in the oldest version.
If the database or content gets upgraded it may be unusable on the older version.
There will be someone on here who has tried it so await another opinion.

You can just make sure that once the database is opened with an admin account you don't open the admin account on another version. Example: Users running 2018, 2019 & 2020. Admin opens database on 2019, makes some modifications and closes. Make sure that the admin never logs into the database on 2018. Once the admin opens the database on 2020, make sure they don't open it on 2019 and earlier.

Currently I have our database updated on 2020, but most users are using 2018 (because of some issues in 2020).

Also, keep in mind, 2019 introduced the folders.ini file. If you add any item folders in 2019/2020, you will need to open 2018 and older and add the folders to update the folder.map file. It's always best to make sure everybody is on the same version and when a new release comes out, make sure you test before going live with it. My rule of thumb, don't go live with the latest version until a service pack has been released.

I forgot about the folders.ini vs. folders.map.
Just be careful updating people to 2020 if you use designline, even the latest "update" didn't fix issues.
