Item Entry Number Auto Increment

(1/1)

tinman77:
Has any one used the "Item Entry Number" before?  (Not the "Item Number" )  In ESTMep the "Item Entry Number" Auto Increments. The same field in CADmep does not.

Darren Young:
I've run into company that used this before. Revit Fabrication Parts broke their use if it. This field is automatically assigned in EST/CAM but when importing something from Revit, they all seem to be set to Zero with no way changing it (last I checked...it's been a while).

Depending what your purpose is, if you need a unique ID, the GUID's may be a better option but there's also been some issue with GUID's not being handled properly too in some prior versions of Fabrication and Revit.

Doesnt in Revit either, what are you trying to do with it?

tinman77:
We are attempting to maintain the Entry number between  ESTMep and CADmep. Some of our process revolves around exporting the information into another software that rely's on the Entry Number from ESTMep. In ESTMep the Entry number works perfect however when we go into CADmep the number is wiped out and reverted to 0. Once the designer makes changes for fabrication or coordination we lose the ability to reverse our estimating process comparing the bid to what was actually fabricated.
