Revit GUID In Report
« on: May 01, 2020, 16:15:00 PM »
I am looking to get the Revit GUID from Stratus. This field appears to be meant for this but when I use it, it provides empty results.

Where are you in Stratus that you are seeing this property?

When I look at the properties of the parts on our models (Acad & Revit), I don't see this listed.

Could be variations in the properties depending when it was published and which version. A lot of that depends on Autodesk.

Could be a property getting attached some other way. eVolve Mechanical I know adds a lot of properties. Save for Vic Tools.

Curious....why you'd want the GUID in Stratus?

I have no idea. I published a Revit project that is one of our first and there is no telling where that parameter is coming from. The name of it however seems to indicate that if the model was published from CAD or Revit, it would be populated with the GUID from its respective product There is a parameter called "Fabrication UniqueID" but I am guessing that is only for Fab Parts and we all know a Revit project wont be just Fab Parts.

I am selected on a piece of Flex Duct. Here are some GUID type numbers I see in the properties.

What is the difference between...

STRATUS.Part.CadId
STRATUS.Part.Id
STRATUS.Part.ModelId

Where in Stratus are you seeing that? Part templates?

Look at the part properties in a model view and see if the properties is in there.

You could also try publishing a new model without any addins loaded (except Stratus of course) and see if it's in there vs one published normally.

Keep in mind a "Part Template" will slowly accumulate all the properties it's ever encountered. We don't have eVolve mechanical but I have those properties in my part templates in my Test customer account as I was helping another company (eVolve customer) troubleshoot a Stratus issue.

That means that property may not even be publishing any more and was there just once.

I am assuming the Properties prefixed with STRATUS. are not from Revit but are filled out on publish in Stratus so regardless of addin or no addin, these are consistent predictable data points.

Yea, the Stratus properties should be consistent.

If you're seeing the GUID on Flex, and it's Revit, then it's Revit flex so I wouldn't think it has a Fabrication Guid.

Ya but there were 3 different GUID looking numbers. Hoping Andy can explain where each number is coming from. I know I can guess but Id like to know for sure.

STRATUS.Part.CadId
STRATUS.Part.Id
STRATUS.Part.ModelId

I'm assuming....

Part.ModelID is the ID of the Stratus Model that the part is associated with.
Part.Id is the Stratus ID of the part.
PArt.CADID is likely the unique ID from the CAD system itself.
