Fitting Type not Found
« on: May 01, 2020, 20:17:16 PM »
We use Fitting Type to distinguish between Straights and Fittings in Fabrication. I am surprised to not see it in Stratus. Anyone see anything different?

Fitting Type?

You mean "Item.Type"?

Service Type is what we typically use. I don't think Stratus publishes absolutely everything, just what's most realistic.

Submit a ticket to them what you're looking for and they can get it in the backlog.

We use Service Type for a lot of that. But we have our own..so when we signed on, a lot of pipe wouldn't publish to the machines because they didn't think that anyone would ever change from the "pipework" service type....except me. So they added it fairly quick for us.

Stratus has a very robust Alias/Filter system so you should be able to apply almost any logic you need to whatever you're doing to get to what you want.  The ability Stratus has to take all the variation you see in CID's and people 's database setups and massage that into useful and reliable information is actually pretty remarkable.

Fitting Type in Fabrication simply returns 'Straights' or 'Fittings' even equipment reports Fittings!
In Stratus we publish an IsStraight Flag for all Straights so you can use that equally as well, you can just test if it exists in Reports or Filters and bingo, job done.
I understand that you are probably trying to replicate your existing reports and we can add the Item.FittingType if absolutely needed but it will add additional data to the publish.
