Flashback Friday!! Anyone remember these...?
« on: Jun 26, 2020, 05:09:32 AM »
I was going through some old books and software and came across a box with a mouse pad and this key chain with a USB hasp on it. This was when I was working at Autodesk, and Blackpool sent it to me right after Autodesk acquired MAP in 2011. See that post - www.xtracad.com/forum/index.php?topic=9674

I remember them. In fact I've got a couple in my desk drawer at work. No use now but couldn't bear to throw them out!  ;)

"Your downcounter has expired, contact TSI support". These were always pleasant support calls when you can't open the software. :)

Believe I still have my LPT Hasp Dongle, that went in my Printer port, along with the (2) 3-1/2" Floppy's for install.
When someone asks where you see yourself in 5 years... Buddy, I'm just trying to make it to Friday. :)

Came across mine several months ago.  I will keep it forever.  Must be because way back when, if we lost it we were in a world of hurt.

I can laugh at this now but at the time it was not funny. Received a support call that the shop computer caught fire and the dongle was toast. Not sure how it caught fire, but non the less, the dongle did not work.

Just going back to the subject of "Map" who the main guys when I started with CAMduct, were Andy Robins and Stuart Barcock. Being 50 miles from Blackpool we saw them often in the early days.

I've been lucky to spend the last couple of weeks working with Stuart (although remotely!) on some CAMduct training he is shortly undertaking for our company. It's nice to give a tiny bit back for all the help and assistance I've had from them over the years.  :)

I remember those, still have a few keys in a drawer here at work... Wonder if they still work if you were to install all those old versions...  ???

I reckon the "down counter" would have wound down years ago....  ;)

Hi Dave,
It's a shame but the pony tail has long gone! But we are still old hippies at heart!  ;D
