2019 version
« on: Aug 04, 2020, 16:37:15 PM »
Is the database and MAJ files compatible from 2021 to 2019? We have 2019 CAM stations and would like to upgrade our CAD to 2021. Is there a problem with the 2021 MAJ files brought into a 2019 CAM station. Or any database issues with some using 2021 and some using 2019 on the same database?
I'm just happy to be here!!!!

For the most part...yes. MAJ's can be opened across versions.

There's a few things that you'd look if you admin in an older version if you set them up in a newer version....like piping ID's....connector matching...newer hanger patterns....but for the bulk of duct fab, it's not an issue.

Don't recall which versions they added those things but we draw in 2018/2019/2020/2021 depending on the job but out shop is using 2015 CAM due to unresolved defects affecting fab.

I believe the added patterns came in 2018 and the matching connectors was 2019.
Our database is built in 2019 and used upwards towards 2021. Estmep is 2020 due to the lining bug on the designline. MAJ's work across all 3 of these versions without any hiccups. 2018 Revit Fabrication has a heap of problems.
