Sometimes we have areas of piping that are too close to the slab above for a regular tear drop hanger or clevis hanger to fit. In these areas we swap in a riser clamp with two rods so that the piping can get as close to the slab above as possible. I was wondering if there was a way for Support Specifications to do this for us when drop rods hit a minimum length or a negative length. Or somehow based on elevation of the piping in relation to the Soffit elevation. As of now it just places a hanger with no drop rod whether it fits or not. Has anyone been down this road before?
