Moving objects with snaps in 3D view
Tye Austin:
I have been getting frustrated that I can't figure out a way to move multiple objects in the 3D view. I can't get to any snaps. If I'm trying to move an assembly of pipe and fittings down I end up having to make a section view and move it there... Anybody know a way to get the snaps to work in the 3D view or another cheat code for moving multiple objects up or down in the 3D view and not having to rely on the section view?

Welcome to Revit. Instead of walking forward 2 inches, 1st you have to head east 2 miles then south 8 miles, then west 2 miles and finally north 8 miles, 2 inches.
The "cheat code" is switching back to Fabrication, then everything is easy.
How's Xenos treating you these days?
APD-DB:
We use section views…didn’t use the 3D views much in autocad always used the section command so when we moved to Revit didn’t notice much difference there. Revit was definitely a struggle at first but has become easier.

All in all, Revit is pretty solid for modeling once you get it down... Just a few things like this that I am needing to find cheat codes for. I am using the eVolve tools to be able to do some of it in the 3D views..
Xenos treating me real good over here...

I used the 3D views quite a bit in CAD. I'm finding now that you can use tools like Connect Elements and Multi-Trim to get some of what I need done in the 3D view... Still I think there is something I'm missing to be able to use node snaps in the 3D view for moving elements
