Piping - Mixing end connectors VIC and Beveled
« on: Jun 24, 2022, 21:09:41 PM »
Hello Xtracad! I am making some nodes that will fill in a few components when taking a tap off a main. I am attempting to cut in a fishmouth x groove and a grooved coupling. I can get them to fill but the problem I have is the next piece has a beveled end connector and not a groove. Has anyone ran into this before and solved it?

next piece, as in the pipe attached to the grooved coupling is beveled?  If so, try unlocking the connector on the pipe and it should match up to what it is connecting to.

I have tried that but the designline seems to just add the pipe and call it a day. Good suggestion though.

Does your service have the branch size in both beveled and grooved pipe?

I have tried that. It just goes with the first option is sees on the palette and fills it.

BECAUSE you have both systems with the same size the branch uses the original (beveled) system - it is the default for that size. If you never have the need for that size beveled pipe (except for the branch converting into grooved) then make the branch connection a fitting, place the fitting to fitting and design line should continue after the fitting with the grooved system.
