Make Service Permanent Issue
« on: Nov 09, 2022, 13:21:24 PM »
We are taking over a project and I have the original working database.  There were 3 services added after the copy of the DB that I have and have been loaded into Revit.  I exported and item from each of the 3 services and used openjob in CADmep, it adds the service with brackets.  I click push pin to it make permanent and it looks OK.  When I exit the CADmep and open it again the service is gone.  Anyone run into this problem before?

Check the service.map file and make sure that updates. You can also try to go into the service dialog and select Apply, I've had do that with other database data points to get to stick. Apply seems to force it to write to the .map file.

I tried using apply, service.map still doesn't update.  I did an exportsys and then closed opened CADmep again and imported the service now it seems to stay in the DB.  Any drawbacks to doing it this way?

ImportSYS should work, just double check that you get any duplicate things like material and connector. Or make sure to make those permanent for anything you didn't have in the DB.

Are you logged in with Admin permissions? Otherwise those changes don't typically get written back.

Yes I am logged in as Admin.  Is it better to delete duplicates or just make them permanent?
