Live Refreshing With .NWC's from Autodesk Docs

(1/2) > >>

We have a project where the GC's requirements are that the .NWC's for the .NWF are hosted to Autodesk Docs.  If I override my .NWC I can refresh that without closing navisworks.  If another trade updates their .NWC then that file goes stale and will not sync until the .NWF file is closed.  Has anyone found a way to get the file to sync without closing navisworks?  I am aware of the close nwc on load option as well.

Chris,

As far as I am aware, if users are on different versions of the desktop connector, there will be syncing issues. We tested it here at our company and that was the case.

chris4455:
So once everyone is on the same version it worked for you to refresh another trades .nwc?

mjohnson7:
Yes. We have not had an update on that for a while now, so haven't had any syncing issues since. I know there was a problem with desktop connector and Revit versions for worksharing as well.

mjohnson7:
Chris,

So I tried this out on a new file using same Revit year versions, with the same Desktop Connector versions as well. I am still getting a stale file and found this online:

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Models-linked-into-Navisworks-appear-in-a-Stale-status-in-Desktop-Connector-after-being-updated.html

So it turns out it is still an issue, even though I know I saw a fix in a support post that talked about what I previously stated. Looks like this functions about as well as the rest of Autodesk software. >:(
