Exporting 3D View From Revit to Navis

(1/2) > >>

Shaun1119:
I have a 3D view set up in Revit where i export out to .NWC. It is set up to just export the 3D elements and has the color profile i want in the view. When loading the .NWC into the Navis file, it does not maintain any of the colors. Any idea?

Thanks
Shaun

You either have to set up an appearance profiler inside of Navis to color your models or you set up materials inside of revit with your colors, apply those materials to your elements and export. Then your elements will have colors inside of Navis.

Appearance Profiler is the way to go. You can have a "template" one setup for 95% of your typical services, service types etc...

I have a appearance profile that I can work with that changes the colors. But if i am exporting out a .NWC for coordination purposes to a GC, they either have there own setup of dont have mine. Was hoping there was a way to just hold the appearance in that export view

Thanks

Not currently possible. There are posts about creating a Material Parameter and adding a Material name that gets confused in the export, claiming to colourise the Fabrication elements. I've spent a lot of hours trying to achieve what you are tryin to achieve. The Appearance profiler is the only current way post export. You could either run the profiler and supply a NWD file to your GC or give them your profiler for colours.
