Numbering Update
« on: Jul 24, 2024, 18:20:45 PM »
The new numbering update is aggressively pushing prior numbering back into our CAD, it's wreaking havoc over here.

For example, say we uploaded a model w/ hangers in it that haven't been numbered yet -- so the shop can see the model.

When we renumber our hangers after that and republish, Stratus says nope and pushes back the prior numbers.

In other words, we number a hanger X1, then republish and Stratus kicks the number back to the default number, let's say 8.

There's going to be change orders on jobs which require new hanger numbers -- this is a big struggle.

Anyone experience this and/or have a solution?

You can control numbering rules by filter now. In this example you can create a filter for "hangers". Add this filter to your numbering rules. you can then designate hangers to either "authoring software is right" or "Stratus is right".  Also be aware of where your numbers are mapped in Stratus.

We just had this exact same issue. What fixed it for me was bringing the hanger filter higher in the priority list in the numbering schemes tab.

Based on replies, this sounds like a Stratus admin issue, is this correct?

We typically number in CAD and then push to Stratus, since we haven't found a decent way of adding prefixes to hanger numbers. Will this filtering exercise work in this fashion, or does that only work if you number thru Stratus?

If you have the "hanger filter" in your numbering, you can set it to "authoring software is right" then do all your numbering in Revit or Autocad. We have a hanger numbering and grouping routine we use in Revit so we also have to make sure that Stratus numbering is ignored and the Revit number overrides.

I don't see this option as a standard Stratus user, it must require a Stratus Admin account.
