Fabrication API
« on: Mar 17, 2024, 09:45:37 AM »
I was hoping to try out the Fabrication Sample addin but I only have the .addin file. I also need the .dll file but it's not in the folder.

Do I have to create this file somehow? The HelloFabriation Addin has both the addin and the dll in the compiled folder, but not for the Fabrication Sample.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
Andy

It should be in the SDK\Samples\CSharp\FabricationSample\Compiled folder.

dll files can be tricky to download due to virus risks etc. So i have removed the file extension. Just rename to .dll once you have it. Alternatively, i know its in the Fabrication 2021 product installs.

Thank you Craig,

I was hoping to get some understanding of using the API to extract fabrication data to populate shared parameters inside Revit. I have since found that the Revit API already has this information, so now I'm focusing my efforts into learning this.

If you know anything about extracting connector type info from the Revit API to populate shared parameters, I would love to hear how you do it. So far I've been able to get the CID, and the Fabrication Type, but I'm struggling with the Connectors

Thanks again for taking time to reply to my original post.

Kind Regards

Andy
