CADmep Database Setup

(1/1)

Tanderson8721:
Team,

Hope this is the correct place for this post... I am being tasked with creating an up to date fabricatable library of parts for sheet metal for my company. I am well versed in Revit but the database in Fabrication CAD MEP is overwhelming. I do not understand what all of the settings do an am having a tough time making progress here. Is there an extensive step by step instruction guide that will walk me through how to match this up to our sheetmetal standards / Smacna standards? My shop is very helpful with explaining allowances and dimensions I just dont understand how those values correlate to the database settings. wish there was previews on each setting that would show what asspect you are changing. I have worked through most of what autodesk had fro this but I am stuck.

The Norm, is all your notches and Connectors, Gauges and Pressure files etc etc should be on the CAM Program (CAMduct/Profile Master).

Is your Company Using a Plasma Table? What Cutting Software?

Tanderson8721:
We have a plasma table but everything is going through trimble Fabshop. Issue isnt so much on the shop end as much as it is on the database side of things. Currently I do not have the knowlegde of what all the settings effect for duct / connectors / stiffeners / air turns and so on. Plasma table software is Vicon cutting program.

Yes, I was afraid that was the case for you. I understand completely.

I will check when I get home for a basic but realistic setup and export it for you to import and fine tune to your standards might help you on journey.
