Material Type dropdown when creating

I would rather ask and look ignorant than be silent and remain ignorant, so...
Looking in the help I see when creating a new material there is a dropdown to select type.
When I create a new material I do not see a dropdown for material type.
I am running estmep 2024.
Anyone know why this would be?

Looks like they moved it to these tabs.

Thanks  I have looked at those tabs uncounted times and just did not put it together.  ;D
