What "user" is logged in in Revit?
« on: Nov 13, 2024, 16:40:58 PM »
I have some friends that are having fun in modifying the reports and worksheets in Revit.
They are locked out of the report builder and worsheet builder in CADmep with permissions in their user.
In revit there is no login for fabrication parts and they can change things they shouldn't.
Now they know what is impacted by that and they promised they won't do it again, but...
How can I be sure? How could I lock them out of it?

Thanks

You can't.

Also, they can change the connectors of things too in Revit. Dumb that this is available to them.  ::)

Will making the report File read only not be enough security?
I mean even with login they could just copy and over write the actual Report file. (making changes without the login)

Blimey, never thought of that solution. I remember doing exactly that for other reasons in windows 3.11,
Sometimes the old ones are the most robust.

To this day I still use SUBST Dos command to simulate server drive letters on my local pc for Dev work. Very handy as a .BAT file for quickly swapping Virtual drives about.
