Our shop foreman has reported that our TDC connector on SOME flat pattern developments does not match the "Edit Development" option within the same pattern that gets sent to plasma table. No changes have been made in our database to the TDC Connector and this seems to happen at random. This is not isolated to any certain pattern or any certain user. All versions of CAMduct have been updated on certain computers to see if that fixes the issue and it seems to have zero effect.

Steps that are taken to see issue..
1. Shop Foreman opens MAJ file.
2. Double clicks on a fitting to check properties/pattern and hits "Develop" button. Flat pattern layout is correct, as it should be with proper TDC stretchout/notching. See attached "Pattern Development" photo.
3. When right clicking on same exact fitting and selecting "Edit Development", the stretchout/notching is not accurate. See attached "Edit Development" photo.

The pattern that actually gets sent to the plasma table is that of the "Edit Development" pattern. This seems to be happening at random and is not consistent from one user to another. Sometimes it does not effect all fittings in a MAJ file, sometimes it does.

Anyone else ran into a similar issue before? Ive gone through almost every setting I can think of and have updated multiple softwares with no luck.

Thanks for any advice in advance!

What is your process of getting the MAJs out of Revit? are you exporting from Revit and importing to CAD? If so what year of CAD are you using? I had this issue when doing this and using AutoCAD 23 and 24.

We have multiple version years of Revit, thats job specific. The first job this happened on, majs were created using evolve, Revit version 23. The second job this happened on, Revit version year 23, majs were created through Stratus. We do not run any files through CAD, strictly Revit to CAM.

Also, I mis-spoke. I did not test maj in 24. Always hesitant to upgrade to new version year with CAM when things work properly or as they should. Our CAM guy is on version 22, so I may have to force him to a new year if thats the fix. Will report back.

Patterns match in CAM 24. Will keep testing but thanks for pointing version years out, such an obvious thing to check!!

Great! Yes, i am a big advocate for keeping as many previous years on my machine as possible to look back, or ahead to see if it is the year/patch version or something else. Good luck! Keep us updated if it starts happening again. It helps us to double check our items as well.

I would not mix and match CAD/CAM/Revit Versions with 1 Database. In other words have a Database for each version.

IE: CAD/CAM/Revit 2020 Call and Path to 2020 Database
CAD/CAM/Revit 2022 Call and Path to 2022 Database

Just copy your Database and rename.

Think if I remember Correctly Andy/MAP touched on this at one time.
When someone asks where you see yourself in 5 years... Buddy, I'm just trying to make it to Friday. :)
