the eM_Fitting Type is determined by what?
« on: Jan 07, 2025, 15:23:45 PM »
We have our pipe and fittings broken out into separate BOM Schedules on the spools but for things like fishmouth connections on welded pipe, it would be good to report a cutlength.  They come up as "fitting" and pipe comes up as "straight" on the eM_Fitting Type parameter and that is what we use to filter the two different BOM Schedules on the spools.  Does anyone know what it is in the database that eVolve is using to categorize fittings/straights?  I did a snoop on the parts and see there is a "IsAStraight" true/false property in the fittings and pipe but can't find that in the database and wondering if eVolve is using pattern numbers or something else to assign that value.

Do the snoop on a straight pipe, it may be on those therefore since it is missing it is inferred to be a Fitting.

Yeah the only thing I can find is the "IsAStraight" true/false value.  but don't see that in the database so wondering where it get's the info from in the ITM.

In the database that is called Fitting Type I believe, its hard coded and not something you can edit. You should be able to see it in any of the reporting tools. Not sure if Revit is using that to determine IsAStraight true/false but that is more then likely what eVolve is using.

For Pipework I use the standard Branch CID but as a weld with a negative length calculated from the interference distance. The a piece of regular pipe.
This gives me an accurate cut length for the straight, An object I can tag as a weld and it removed the poor functionality of the Branch CID length in Revit.
