CAMduct Core Version issue
« on: Apr 01, 2025, 19:50:46 PM »
CAM operator is getting this odd error. The build version of 24.10.005 is what CAM and CAD have. The Minimum Compatible Version is to be 24.50.003. That doesn't appear to exist. Autodesk "Support" says "this pop up doesn't refer to any issue here, and is fine if you are running the latest version of CAMduct 2024"  ::)

So, how do we get this error to stop showing and what is causing it?

Should be able to ignore it most likely. I think if you continue and save, it should go away.

Normally...the database itself isn't "Version specific" but in some cases it is.

It's one of Autodesk's failed attempts to protect you from nothing while exposing you to real problems unknown to you.

Normally.. things work regardless of version. Occasionally...they need to "Add" things to do enhancements. one such exapmle is "connector matching".

If you log in as an Admin in a version that support connector matching... you cna set the connectors. Older versions that don't support connector matcing, ignore those settings. Unless you're in the older version as an admin... then that older version rewrites the table and strips the things it doesn't know about.

Which is why you should only be in as Admin in a "specific" version (any version...just stick with it).

Because they're jacking with things like the materials... they likely threw that there as a BS way to avoid any liability "We warned you".

in reality...thay "should" be able to let you know what specifically causes that and what things do and don't pose a risk.

It's like the CAM version of the warning CADmep would often give where it warned you you were opening a DWG with a different databse version than you have loaded.  I had Andy explain it once years ago and it made sense...except that it didn't work as he described and infact seemed opposite.

Funny you posted that screen shot Ken, this morning had exact same issue using "OPENJOB"
Had never ran into it before or seen it.

I needed to look what a Newbie CAD guy sent to shop so asked foreman to send me his MAJ last night.
I got message with Autocad 2022 so closed and Opened with 2025 too No Message.

He created MAJ/CAM File in 2025 or 2024, not sure as I'm one in office at this time.

As Darren says no biggie but I wanted to see and diagnose issue foreman had. All good!

The issue was his database setting was set to machine Cut straights under 50" lol not a good setting, when we have CoilLine

I was surprised to see this post after all was said and done. Freaky!

I do all my edits in 2020 to keep it consistent. I was planning on starting to do edits in 2024 to keep it the same as CAM. We don't have any projects in 2025 yet so I haven't seen anything newer than 2024 which most of our jobs are currently.

Oh well. I will let the CAM operator know.

Thanks guys.

VP, what version(s) are you running now? Ours are the same for 2024 but I don't want to go to 2025.

Ken, I'm still on 2024, I am too busy to start debugging 2025   ;D
