Future of Mapprod or prodinfo.map

My understanding is Revit 2024 and newer is not pulling some information from the mapprod (prodinfo.map) as was done in earlier versions. Can someone elaborate on this? Will the mapprod still be useful? Are we looking to abandon it in the future? Is this related to MEP Content Editor?

I have not seen any changes. All of our tools that pull the Product info parameters from prodinfo work as they are supposed to in 24.

I did see one thing, and it may have been fixed after an update because it does not behave this was anymore, but "Fabrication Fitting Description" was reporting Manufacturer + Prod.Long Description in 22, when we used it in 24, it was reporting the literal name of the ITM in our database.

I just did some testing and it seems like it works the original way now.
