How to create ITM file
« on: Jul 10, 2025, 07:30:06 AM »
Hello everyone,

I am new to creating ITM files.
Would anyone be able to help by sharing some tutorial guidance ?

Mainly, I can only duplicate the ITM and change some sizes from the specific product catalog.
If anyone suggests a site/ video that can help to create such ITM file step by step, it would be great.

I am confused like is it really possible to create such an ITM file with some additional geometry, and it's also available from the database display pellet from Revit fabrication and Fabrication CADmep both ?..... May be ..,

Please help  :'(

I put in a question to copilot AI.
"I am looking for video tutorials about creating ITM files in Autodesk fabrication"
It gave me several links. Here are a few. They should get you started.

Several notes: using Excel helps a bunch and don't forget to add the parts to the Product Information Editor

Thank you all,
It's really helpful.

So, I have to now learn about the formula/rule to provide to the respective dimensions to get the appropriate parametric behavior.

If you have any sources that provide examples, that would be helpful.
How to set some calculations to control the parametric behavior.

Thank you.

As Pipefitter72 mentioned, the help file has a lot of information in it. Also, check Youtube.
