Zoom In Navisworks Command
(1/1)
chris4455:
When I was using Navisworks manage 2022 I used to be able to set up a shortcut command to give a zoom feature that you could either use a window or push your middle mouse button and slide the mouse up or down and the view would zoom in or out. In 2025 I do not see the same type of zoom command unless I switch viewpoints then it shows up. Does anyone know the name of this zoom command that I can setup a shortcut for? See screenshot for zoom command image.
AN-detail:
It is called 'Zoom Box' and is <Command ID="RoamerGUI_OM_MODE_ZOOM_BOX"> in RoamerCommands.xml. The default shortcut is Ctrl-5 or you can also access it by right-clicking in model space>Viewpoint>Navigation Mode>Zoom Box. It acts differently than 'Zoom Window' found on the Viewpoint>Navigate panel or on the Navigation toolbar which is <Command ID="RoamerGUI_AutoCAM_Zoom_Window"> in RoamerCommands.xml in that the middle mouse action you describe is only on Zoom Box not Zoom Window.
I don't have 2025 installed, but it is the same in 2022 and 2024. You can rebind the shortcut in RoamerCommands.xml found in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2024\Layout

I see in 2025 & 2026 they still have CTRL+5 set to run the zoom box command but it does not open that command. It executes the basic zoom window. When I do switch to a saved viewpoint the zoom box command opens so it is still there but I do not know how to get the command to open from a button or shortcut command.

Zoom Box definitely works different from 2022 and 2026. I actually never used it but looks handy.
I did find while in walk in 2026 shift middle button brings up Orbit which can be handy as opposed to old way i did it.
