Checking Development of Nested Items
« on: Aug 28, 2025, 22:24:55 PM »
I'm taking awhile to scrub the rust off after a long time away. So pardon any ignorance.

I'm taking a look at a CID#61 gored elbow that is currently nested and I was messing with the connectors, which would affect the item's layout. As I checked the developments, I noticed that it refused to change the layout until I deleted the nest. Has it always been this way?

Yes - always been that way to my knowledge.
You cannot modify an ITM in any way if it has any flat patterns nested.

Sorry to double post, but I guess this really comes back to this issue then.

These two fittings both have .5" turn flanges but only one shows the white line to make it easily visible. The gored elbow does not. So that was why I was checking this stuff to begin with.

Makes them a lot easier to check.

It's been a long decade or so. Got a couple proper software engineering jobs that went very well, but the most recent one got bought out by a crypto firm and I am not a good fit for that.

Hoping to be posting around here more soon. I have a lot of rust to knock off, but the plus side is that I'm hopeful to be helpful on dev stuff.

Well, I am sure you will pick it up quickly. Besides, not much of the software has changed besides the whole Revit integration that is...

Yeah. I was still messing with the Fab and Revit API's during my sabbatical and saw that things were staying pretty still. I mostly expected it.

Now that I'm back on the blue collar adjacent side of things, I'm working on some open source stuff that makes life a bit easier for in-house contractor developer / script folks. I'll probably add a signature once I feel these things are really ready for common use, but probably won't plug beyond that.
