HETOs that work in revit
« on: Oct 09, 2025, 18:18:01 PM »
Wanted to see if anyone has had any luck creating a HETO for use in Revit that works as a tap?
I cant seem to find a CID that has the correct options. CID#24 is the closest I've gotten but unfortunately its oval on C1 and also doesn't allow size input on the C1 side. Since HETOs can have a shorter height than the diameter, this is a problem when connecting say a 12"Ø HETO to a 10" H duct.
I have parts that I can manually place as tap in revit, but it'd be nice to be able to use them in multi point routing.

We've been using CID#24 and haven't heard any complaints in a while. Guess I'll have to check in with everyone.

We have ours based on CID#28 but usually purchase them. No issues either.

I used CID#8.  I then took the Elgen Heto Submittal and built them based on that.  I made them dependent upon size so that they are identical to the Submittal.  Also made two versions one with and one without a VD.

CID#24 seems to be the only pattern that works in multi point routing for HETOs. I use CID#34 when I want to burn the HETO hole or modify the height to fit in a smaller duct. We have a local manufacturer that fabs HETOs that are 1" smaller than the round opening.

I use CID#8.  You just need to select connect as tap when selecting it in Revit.
