Item set to Machine Cut, but Nothing to nest
« on: Nov 04, 2025, 16:55:38 PM »
I have this CID#311 set to machine Cut.
The automatic Nest returns "Nothing to Nest".
There is "-" in the job content under the column "Nested".
I think I looked everywhere, but obviously not!
I had a friend send me his CID#311 and it worked.
What was the problem with the other part? It was taken in the V7.05 folder.
Is there a lock, or something on certain items coming from ADSK?
Thanks for your help.

Things I found that could give me the same "-" Nested Result :

1) "Not Cut" was selected on each part of the development or
2) On the Options tab 8 and 9 being set to No Pipe and No Branch or
3) no material was assigned

Hopefully one of those is your solution.

Thank you Jona,
All of those are OK, but still nothing to nest.
That's why I was looking for some hidden "lock" option from deep within.

Did you make sure the item isn't flagged to be bought?

On two separate occasions, I had parts that show as nested, but they are NOT nested. The funny thing is that I can just open them up and accept, and they are then nestable. I don't have to change a thing, just accept them and there they are. This is totally random
