I guess it might be useful to someone who is still on an old version of AutoCAD, but I stay pretty current so I don't see the benefit.  2007 or 2008 can open and save to any version.  Plus for batch converting I would use Autodesk True view which is free and has True Convert built in. It doesn't even require AutoCAD to be on the computer.

I concur with c2k.  Is there an easy way to import Solidworks files into AutoCAD?  I tried this a while ago. with pumps I think, but didn't have any success

I recently received some 3D equipment files that I believe were originally drawn in Solidworks. The files were in ACIS format with an ".sat" extention.
I'm not sure if you can "export" or "save as" Solidworks drawings to a .sat extention or if it's a conversion program, but the equipment came in fine.
In AutoCad I had to insert ASIC file.

Steve,

After doing some research you are correct. (Thank you!)  The manufacturer has an option for ASIC format.  I then found the ASIC file option under the Insert menu.  That makes my life a little easier.  I figured there had to be a way to import these files.  Thanks again.

Armstrong Pumps by chance?

Anyway, ya... I like Trueview because I no longer have to save down (unless I'm trying to appease a client).  Just send them a link, and they can save in any version.

DWGateway was cool too, and I think their product prompted Autodesk to "get with it".
