I've never seen a version of Navisworks that ever successfully opened ACAD vertical products directly. If it did exist, it only lasted for a few days until Autocad rolled out another update.

Open up the DWG, export to Navis... profit.

A lot of times this is the method they want you to use as the insulation would not be seen by converting to .nwc or .nwd first. Don't have the email anymore, but they suggested dropping the drawing in.
I'm not sure if it's fixed but truly this is a lot quicker than opening and converting as it's making the nwc.

How much insulation do you have on your ADT walls?

Talking to different subjects here.
To get back to Daves problem and not the rambling :) It's got to be something not converting. Do you have the loader for 2004 set to 2004?

sorry it took so long bob, here's the drawing with joists instead of beams. i appreciate your help on this. it's still giving us a hard time here and there. is it possible that 2008 mep is kicking out the block that is associated with the joist?

I had no problems viewing the wall if it is exported from Autocad using the NWDOUT command.
