Close coupling pressfitting components

(1/1)

Brian Hogg:
I've been using the pressfitting range to produce a layout as this is now more frequently accepted on site because of speed of installation. What is the minimum centres dimension to be applied when taking branches off mains, i.e. can female connectors butt up to each other?

Admin:
Because the pressfittings are crimped joints a length of pipe (or male/male coupling) needs to be inserted between two female ends. This needs to be of a length that will fit fully into the inset of each female end and allow sufficient space between fittings to enable the crimping tool to be used.
Rather than list these lengths, you've given me an idea... :)

I will produce a set of components which will represent the minimum lengths of pipe for each size and  put them on the site for downloading. Using these items between female fittings will ensure that the smallest possible centres are achieved.
