Navisworks Blackouts
« on: Apr 30, 2010, 04:05:18 AM »
Within the last week I have started experiencing blackouts when I tilt the view in Navisworks usually when trying to view the side of the drawing.  The picture will come back when I tilt the view to way up or way down.  The weird thing is it isn't consistent and I can't pinpoint it to anything.  I am really just curious if anyone else is having a similar issue?  I don't know if it matters but all the files I append are NWD files and their original format are CADmech/Duct, Sprink Cad, AutoCad, and East Coast Cad.

There is thread (or 2) over at AUGI that covers this exact subject.

http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=93915

If you only have NWDs to work with, this is the most likely best fix (from the AUGI thread):

I have had this on most of my models & to solve the problem I adjust the clipping planes in navisworks.

This is found under 'Tools', 'Files Options' if you select fixed for both near & far & change the Near to 1 & the far to 9999999999999999999999 then all should work fine.

Tried this today and I didn't have any problems. Thanks for the tip. If it shows back up, I'll update you.
