beaded slip-fit round taper finished length
« on: Sep 09, 2010, 21:06:43 PM »
Does anyone know how to enable entry of a finished length when keying in a round tapering pattern (reducer, conical, etc.) and have it allow for a bead/swage thickness at the base of the collar where it joins the body? It seems like the connector should be able to adjust body length to allow for the bead, but the only adjust I can find changes the aligned dimension rather than the linear dimension.
Attached is a .dwg illustrating the problem. Right now the choice exists to enter either of the top two dimensions, but can it be done by entering only the bottom dimension?

No, we just adjust our entered length to match what we need.

If you have the database setup correctly the length on the drawing should reflect the correct length of 10" if you enter the length of 8" in the item dialog.

I wish we could enter the corrected lengths also but the program does not allow it.
