CAMduct™ Users / CID#866 full joint nesting
« Last post by brady0542 on Dec 27, 2024, 19:37:05 PM »
My shop has SDS and we are transitioning into CAMduct.
SDS has a feature to load in full joint straights that will notch and rip cut the full joint pieces on a flat sheet.

Does anyone know how to do that in CAMduct?

Basically want to select the full joint straights and have the burn table notch the corners and rip cut along the seams.

Any help would be great.
Thank you!!!  :D

CID#97 will get you individual gores.

Now lets get rid of them bells. Bah Humbug

CAMduct™ Users / Export Info on Segments of a Part
« Last post by jaysomlam on Dec 24, 2024, 19:03:57 PM »
I am trying to find a way to export the info about each segment of a part.  Normally I use the export-parts function in CAMduct to export a list of info about the individual parts that form a piece of duct.  And each part will be on an entry in the exported file.  But gored elbow (CID#61) is different.  It only has one part, but with multiple segments as shown in the attached picture.  I cannot find a way to export the info about each segment.  If someone knows the way to do this, please let me know.  Thanks.

General Revit® Queries / Re: Revit Annotations Scaled up in Print

There is a good chance the font of that text is not supported therefore replaced with another standard font with no formatting. try changing the scaled up font to the same of the one working, or make a copy of an existing text block and replace the bad block.

CADmep™ Users / Re: CADmep bolt and gasket sets specific to valve or accessory

It can be done, but requires each accessory have it's own Connectivity group and gender, and yes, it can do it automatically all together once all is correctly setup.

For instance my mechanical joint uses a pipe, a gland, a gasket, bolts, and the fitting, they all connect automatically, each forming a "pair" Connectivity group, for instance, the pipe will be male in the same group as the gland with one side female, the gland, then the second connector of the gland will have a different Connectivity Group and so on, it is just as any other fitting connection, but with multiple Connectivity groups to avoid confusion, and don't use any of the existing groups so it won't get confused by other connectors.

My method is that I draw each part in a piece of paper, assign group names and gender to each and then is easy to follow, it only takes a few minutes if I draw it first.

According to the link to the web page, it said that we need to use coupling items with CID#522, 1522, and 2522.  The one with CID#522 is the one for round duct according to Working Database \ Resource \ Pattern Catalogs.  Unfortunately, I cannot find that item file in item folders using the Search (for CID) feature in item folders.

Someone in our shop created an item file using MAKEPAT command based on the PDF file, and he assigned CID#522 to it.  But that item file doesn't have the "Machine Cut" option in its Cut Type.  This means we cannot nest it (I want to auto-fill a coupling that we fabricate to two spirals that we also fabricate).  Before I get into how I can use it to auto-fill between 2 round pipes (it doesn't), I want to know if using MAKEPAT to create that item file is the way to do this?  Or maybe I should look for the item file somewhere else?

Please let me know.  Thanks.

Thanks for the link to the web page that tells us a way to auto-fill a coupling between round pipes.  I will try this to see if this works or not.

You have to make sure that a "coupling" fitting is available on your service template, we use two unique CID1112, one for Male connectiors and one for female connectors...
