Hello there, I am currently working on a project that is in Navisworks and of course has thousands of clashes. However in using clash detective I am truly only interested in clashes that are partially through an object. For example, if I have a pipe that clears a 7’ run then begins to slope into a existing duct. I tried to create a custom rule alas I cannot seem to isolate this exact case. If anyone could explain if this can be done that would be greatly appreciated.

Any suggestions for setting up rules in Navisworks? For insulation, concrete and etc
-
VDCguy95:
Not necessarly a rule but clearance. Set it to .5" than anything greater than .5 will not clash.
Alina:
this will need a rule. Pick everything in drawing and create a set. Than make a set for just concrete. Go to rules and pick between two sets to ignore and set it to these sets. What happens is the concrete is in both and it ignores it

Are you using Fabrication file?
-
yep . Use all the programs when clashing revit/nwc/nwd/ sprink/ etc
-
Do you export Revit file by floor and then append in navis and select the whole thing and make a set?
-
I actually use search sets using item source file to grab all the drawings for All trades

Do you use rules for not clashing Vertical Elements (pipes) with slabs? Thank you
Is there a way to create one, so you can see only horizontal clashes?

Depending on where the slab drawing is. Say it resides in the Arch model You can make a search set that negates the slab with rules or just pick everything in file but the slab and make a selection set. I prefer search sets
