Are you going to properties and checking the "catalogue" box? If it is checked the material does not want to change, but the gauge will. If I leave it uncheck with a product list, it does not want to draw correctly but the material will change. What I wound up doing was having a spiral oval or round straight for each material we use galvanized, stainless, etc.

Did anyone ever get this resolved? I am product listing oval straights to keep to the sizes we build. Then any fittings they attach would assume that restricted size.
I was thinking of doing the same with the spiral straights as well. That way, the detailers could use a welded seam option for the rare oddity.

No. like the other post, this is driven by the CID pattern.

Typically no. This is because the parts are made by patterns (aka CID number). That CID has all the options built into it.

I have found a post about this earlier, but was wondering if someone have found a solution to make the nesting choose from different plate sizes. Admin Edit:I think he is referring to a wish list item posted https://www.xtracad.com/forum/index.php/topic,16125.0.html

You can also get copilot or some other AI but my experience is that its never 100% correct on the formatting.

Darren Young has done several Scripting classes that have recordings. Here is one of them. I know you are asking about CAMduct but the execution is the same. https://www.autodesk.com/autodesk-university/class/Fabrication-CADmep-Scripting-101-Lab-2018 Also, tons of scripts and/or samples on this site you can copy/paste. Just search the word Script or .cod. You can make a .cod from the basic Notepad tool on all Windows machines. You just change the extension from .txt to .cod then go execute it in CAD/CAM/EST.

We process MAJ files we receive from other contractors to produce their duct. I'm interested in learning scripting because there are many little tweaks that we make to each item individually so that they will work with our shop equipment. Can anyone tell me a good source to help me learn how to begin with scripting? I've tried a few times to investigate it but haven't ever really gotten anywhere with it.

Pretty broad question but attached is an example where I have a round offset that is only giving me one quadrant slit and i would like it to add a slit on the sides as well but there is no option like on a gored elbow.
thank you!
