No you can not set a kerf to a material.  :(  That would be nice though.

You can set the kerf on 2014 SP1b at Right Click>CADmep>Set-up>Linear Nesting Options.

Can reports be set up based off of the machine (with the different kerf values set) or do you need to change which machine is active before running the report? I've figured out how to filter for specific materials but can not get the kerf to change without changing which machine is active.

Has Anyone fooled with this lately have they added "Item Spool name" back. getting pressure to go to 2014 but useless to my company until this feature is restored.

Not added in yet. Just been scripting the spool name to another usable field in linear reports for now and having reports sort that way.

Solution

Take a 2015 report with the Spool Name print object in it, open it in 2014 and waaalaaa.  :)

It is, I am running 2014, I am looking into the report your posted on the other thread. I noticed the Spool Name print object which is not supposed to be in 2014. Copied it and used it in my own report. :) Works like a charm!

Anyone know how to get connector types in new reports? There are scenarios where one end is beveled and other is grooved.

Work around...use regular Reports. Put the print objects you need in its own report. Go to you MIS folder, change the extension to .LRP.

IEX to an LEX? That doesnt seem to work.
Took an IEX and changed it to LEX. Added the linear nest print objects I wanted. Saved the report and it created a new IEX. I get the linear nest headers but no data.

Scott did a clip in this. He addresses this about half way into the clip.

Right and I can successfully do that for a LRP but not a LEX data export.
Im going to see what 2015 can do. If still not successful will have to use excel to merge the 2 data exports to get the info I need for printing labels.

anyone get this to work with strut?
no matter what I try (changing material/spec/cid on the strut), it always reports 5 5/8" as cut length for the first two nest groups.  then it works ok.

I have one set-up for strut but we are not using it yet. I had no problems while testing it.

In looking at your picture why does your nest group 2 not show the full length. it looks like the same material and unistrut as the other groups. Could you possibly have added the full length in the materials after inserting those hangers and not done a rebuildall? Just a thought
