Duplicate Registrations
« on: Aug 23, 2013, 18:40:42 PM »
Whilst going through all the attachments from the old forum I am coming accross quite a few members who have re-registered under a different username and email address when changing company, etc. rather than just having their email address amended.

If, for any reason, you may have done this then please email or PM me with details of any previous usernames that you may have used.

This will enable me to merge the posts from the old usernames to your current account and then delete the original accounts, which will reduce the database load and speed up the site.

Please think back. You may have long forgotten earlier accounts but this may jog your memory.

Once again, I am still finding duplicate registrations and having to delete them. Found 3 yesterday.

Please take the time to read the original post carefully and contact me if necessary.

You could end up with posts merged into an account you no longer use or don't remember the password for if it is left to me to decide which one to keep, but duplicate registrations WILL be removed.

I am continually finding duplicate registrations. Some members have 4 or 5 different registrations active.

There is no need to re-register if you change job. Changing an email address in your profile is easy, as is requesting a replacement for a lost password.

Despite repeated requests, members are not contacting me to verify these accounts and to arrange for posts to be merged into their current account.

The frustrating thing is that many of these members are currently active on the forum so will have seen and read these announcements.

Please read this topic carefully and, if it affects you, contact me. I don't want to force myself into a situation where I just delete all the accounts of those concerned.
