Fabrication ESTmep Fundamentals 2015
« on: Mar 07, 2015, 12:38:34 PM »
MEP Fabrication courseware

We've published our latest courseware for the Autodesk fabrication products. Fabrication ESTmep Fundamentals 2015 is intended to be used in the standard four-day instructor-led class, but can be used by almost anyone to learn the fundamentals of Autodesk Fabrication ESTmep.

This 500 page book is printed in full-color and includes exercise files to enable you to follow each lesson. Printed by Amazon's publishing service, this book is exclusively available on our web site.

http://enceptia.com/enceptia-marketplace/

It joins our previous book, Fabrication CADmep Fundamentals 2015, as the only commercially available courseware for these Autodesk products.

I got mine. Now I want the advanced version. I wrote Enceptia but it vanished into the black hole.
Older and wiser - President at C2B INC (formerly CC2BL INC). Wondering how long I can get away with my 2018 lifetime CAD MEP combo licence. Squeaking by with a circa 2012 HP EliteBook 8760w with a new motherboard, second solid state drive and Windows 10 upgrade.

Sorry, F&C, we didn't mean to ignore you. The same question was asked either here, or on LinkedIn, or on the Autodesk forum a few months back and I thought you might have seen that response. Or perhaps I just dreamed it. Regardless, I apologize for the lack of a direct response.

You might see some selected advanced topics tutorials coming soon, but I'm not in a position to guarantee that. It isn't my decision. The target market is probably too small to justify the cost and effort to create a true Advanced MEP Fab book. I won't say "it will never happen", but there are also some obstacles beyond time and money to writing such a book that might be challenging to overcome.

We hope to publish the Fabrication CAMduct Fundamentals 2016 book in coming months. It's essentially written and is being reviewed by another expert; it just needs formatting and screen captures as far as I know. We decided last week to stop working on the 2015 version and quickly adapt it to the 2016 software version. That will only push it back a few weeks, I hope.

Fabrication CADmep Fundamentals is planned to be refreshed and improved for 2016. It will, like Fabrication ESTmep Fundamentals, become full-color with more exercises. One idea we have is to include both ductwork and piping exercises for most of the lessons. It should be published this summer.

We're also fairly far along with a specialized Revit book that some people may find helpful. That should be available in the fall. But no guarantees either!

If you, or anyone else, have suggestions or find errors regarding the existing books, please let me know via email.

It's truly amazing that this software has been around since the 80's in various flavors and there is almost zero documentation on it that anyone can grab from a shelf.

There's not a lot because you don't "install" the software in as much as you "implement" it.

Each installation is unique (or should be) based on each customer's workflow, priorities, etc.

Reviving an old thread here, but does anyone know where we might find the exercise files for the Fabrication Fundamentals training manuals (cad, cam, est)? I've Googled the crap out of it and am coming up empty.
