Fabrication CAMduct Fundamentals Book
« on: Jul 15, 2016, 03:44:02 AM »
Applied Software has published Fabrication CAMduct Fundamentals. This courseware is based upon the 2017 version of the software and is intended to be used in the standard three-day instructor-led class, but can be used by almost anyone to learn the fundamentals of Autodesk Fabrication CAMduct.

This 450 page book is printed in full-color and includes downloadable exercise files to enable you to follow each lesson on your own computer. Printed by Amazon's publishing service, CreateSpace, this book is exclusively available at this URL

https://www.createspace.com/5331145

It joins our previous books, Fabrication CADmep Fundamentals 2015 and Fabrication ESTmep Fundamentals 2015, as the only commercially available courseware for these Autodesk products.

A low-res sample copy is attached to this post. It contains random pages from the book.

The test on the site lists 2015 as well as a 2015 publication date. May want to update that if possible.

None the less, been looking for this for some time. Glad to see it's finally arrived.

PS: How come CADmep is the only one that shows up on Amazon search?  All three are published via Create Space (owned by Amazon).

You might sell more if ESTmep and CAMduct came up in Amazon searches.

Anytime anyone asks me about them, I have to search the posts here to find the ESTmep link.

The book version numbers are inserted when the publication is initially recorded with CreateSpace. It cannot be changed without starting over. I had hoped to publish CAMduct Fundamentals in 2015, but life intervened. Getting it done and "out the door" became my end of career mission. This book is based upon Fabrication CAMduct 2017. It's safe to say you won't ever see another CAMduct book published. Or another CADmep or ESTmep book.

It isn't on Amazon because Amazon charges about $32 per copy just for that privilege. All sales used to be from links to the CreateSpace site from our web site. No reason to advertise such a niche book on Amazon. But I do understand the ease of finding it. So, now just send them here for the links.

Hopefully someone from ASTI will respond as it was a joint publication by four of their employees.

In the meantime you may also wish to take a look at Autodesk's fundamental training videos.

Youll want to get a hold of whomever your sales rep is from ASTI. I can find out for you if you send me your info. dronson@asti.com

I would be interested in both the CAD and CAM publications if they can be found.

So are these publications only available to ASTI customers now?

No, anyone can buy them. I think the CADmep book is still on Amazon but the other two books aren't posted anywhere.

Edit - You can fill out a form here to get information

I was able to purchase what I was told was the last physical copy of CAMduct Fundamentals. Is there anyway of getting a PDF or E-book version of these books? I would like to have this on my iPad so when I'm mobile, I can bring them with me.

Wow, sorry to see this resource evaporate. I would still like to find a source for these as well.

I have not got a copy of that but I do have a PDF of a MAP software manual which covers CAD, CAM & EST. It's not new (2013 I think) but probably covers the essentials.

Just on my way home but will see if I can stick it on the cloud if anyone wants it?

Now I'm home I've made a link to the doc if it's of use to anybody.
